Weekly Update for Tom and Cheryl Rees in Thika, Kenya 3-12-11
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:8-9
Work Permit
We need to finish up a few details, but we have been approved for the work permit. Thank you to everyone who so faithfully prayed for the work permit. It is so exciting to know that as we return to Thika we will at last be able to begin the church. Tom would like to return before the end of March as Eric and Sheila will be moving out at that time.
Application for Insurance
Cheryl has been working on an application to acquire insurance through Kaiser. She was able to send it online today and it will take a week or two before we will know if we are accepted or not. Please pray for God to intercede on our behalf to have insurance before we leave for Kenya.
Visit to Washington
After months of prayer about our trip to Washington the trip has been a tremendous blessing. We have been able to bring our granddaughter Nia and enjoy a special time with her. We are so grateful to our special friends who always open their home to us as well as to many other missionaries. Tom will be speaking at Calvary Chapel Bothell on Sunday and we are so thankful to be reunited once again with our church family in Washington. Pray for a safe journey as we return to California on Monday.
Pray Requests
Pray for Tom’s mother Flo as she begins attending a class on grieving at Calvary Costa Mesa. Pray for our good friend Virginia who is 90 years old and dealing with various health issues. Pray for Eric and Sheila as they prepare to move to Mauritius Island for ministry. Pray for Cheryl as she has an ultrasound on Tuesday. Continued prayer for church registration, safe journey back to Africa and new beginnings as we start the church.
May God fill you with His Word and your joy be overflowing this week, Tom and Cheryl
